Pitch post 8) Mise-en-scene- Props, costumes, make up etc by Sharmin Sardar

Props

In our title sequence we will use a few props to make it more professional and real such as:

  • A House- we will need to use a house or apartment to film the title sequence in as we need to be in a setting where furniture is surrounding.
  • Furniture - such as sofa's, doors, and etc.
  • A Knife- as our title sequence's storyline is about crime and how a young innocent boy got stabbed.
  • Phones- To use to communicate between one another.

Costumes

We will use costumes to also make the scenes in the title sequence seem more realistic, and to give the characters a background of where they're from and this also shows the kind of personality they might have or what surrounding they are in to the audience.

we will use costumes such as:

  • Tracksuits- Youth related to crime are usually stereotyped to always wearing such clothes.
  • Hoodies- The title sequence includes youth and crime so therefore we will use stereotyped clothing of what thy would wear in gangs.
  • Gloves- As stabbing and violence is in the storyline, the gloves will be used to show more of an edge and violent side to the characters which symbolise them trying to hide their wrong doing.

Characters who will wear and use the above clothing are:
        Reece (Little brother)
        Tion (Older brother)
        Members from the gang
  • Police uniform- The characters of police will be used as it is about gangs and violence, this costume will be used to show the difference between the characters from the gang and from the police services.
  • People in formal business uniform- People in the background will be wearing formal clothes to show the contrast between the social groups between working class and gang members.

 Makeup

  • Rough look face makeup to look like they are bad and 'scary' such as scars from previous fights.
  • Blood and bruises- from the fights and stabbing.
