Evaluation: Question 4
Who would be the audience for your media product?
For research i used YouGov Profilers. I typed in similar films to my own such as Kidulthood and Hood Video:
Based on these results, 18-30 years olds both male and female are considered as my wider audience.
My target audience is 12-18 year olds as they are the most likely individuals to relate to the my film best.

Effects
.We use filters to help understand and add effect to scenes.
We used filters such as the black and white filter to help the audience understand it was a flash back to earlier.
We also used the reverse effect at the end of our title sequence, we noticed that a lot of other groups used this to take up time because their title sequences were too sort, where as we used it to help illustrate the storyline. It leaves the title sequence on a cliff hanger, making people watch more as they know quite a lot of information but not enough to be at ease as we reveal a large chunk of the storyline in the opening scenes
We sped up certain clips to shave off a couple seconds because our title sequence was too long. Also it's put on the reverse at the end and the Elipsise to add to the effects off time passing or how fast time has passed.
We used filters to make a segment of our title sequence seem like it's being recorded on a phone, those shots where's videoed to be shakey n lowery resolution so it seemed more likely to be videoed on a phone along with the filter making the shots relevant to what's going on in the film
Sound
We used UK's award winning artists Krept and Konan's song Brother as we thought it best complimented the story we were trying to tell through piece of media.
We also used folley sounds like jogging footsteps on concrete, gasping, staving scenes and many more to add effect to the scenes such as the closing scenes. We also used train announcements to narrate where the characters are going, this was effective as we couldn't do this as effect through mise en scene or dialogue.
Also, we used dialogue from some of the clips to help tell the story that couldn't be shown through actions alone.
Elipsise
We use a Timelaps Elipsise we found on YouTube. We used short segments of this to represent the change of time over between clips so clips do not skip from light to dark and to generally make our piece not coherant.

Rough Copy 1 & 2 Feedback
Rough Copy 1 & 2 Feedback
- Cut down some clips so that it isn't too long. E.g. the smoking scenes.
- Try using some different sounds instead of one sound playing throughout the whole title sequence.
- Reconsider if you want the flashback to be created as it may give away too much of the plot.
- Make the story line more clear that the jacket belongs to the brother and the wrong person has been killed.

Costume & Iconography
Costume
1. Bodywarmer
The bodywarmer is the most significant item of clothing in the title sequence as it belonged to Tion, Reece's older brother. Tion is known for wearing the bodywarmer but as Reece is wearing it he ends up being killed due to the recognition of the bodywarmer. This creates shock and an omnious atmosphere for the audience.
2. Hoodies and Trackuits
These items of clothing were chosen as they best represent male youths of today. Having the characters wear convetional clothing gives the audience a sense of realism and therefore can understand and relate to the characters and deveelop a sense of attachment.
Make-Up
1. Stab Wound / Blood
Iconography
1. Knife
This is the most significant piece of iconography in the title sequence as it is the weapon that kills Reece and so the audience will remember it. We chose a knife instead of a gun as it is more accessible, but also because troubled youths that are involved in gang violence tend to use knives more than guns. Again we are trying to create real and conventional characters so our target audience can relate to the film.
2. Phones

43.Reflection on what goes well and what needs to be re-shot by sofia
After a few filming sessions we realised that a lot of what we filmed needs to be re-shot for example-
- we will have to re shoot Salvatore (the protagonist) leaving his house to make it seem more realistic because the shots we have are not to the standard that we require them to be at.
- Korie (one of the actors) bedroom scene again because they are not to the standard we would like them to be at so we will keep re-shooting until our shots are perfect.
- we also need close up shots of the text message which we will then hologram so it can pop up on the screen clearly to the audiences veiw.
- shots of Salvatore and Julius walking around.
- The main shots we have but need more off are Establishing shots because they set the scene and emphasise the hood and reality of our title sequence.
- we are going to film some more over the shoulder shots to show the different angles and directions the camera can be positioned in.
- To show diversity in angles we will film some more high angle shots and low shots.
