Type of Category of Title Sequence: Titles on animation, titles on a black screen and narrative. We know this based on the fact the titles are placed on the actual scene of the film.

Producer(s):

 Paramount Pictures, M.G. Films and Broadway Video (founded by Lorne Michaels)

It is a mainstream production as the production companies are popular and big and so have a lot of money to put into making the film therefore further ensuring Mean Girls a tentpole film.

Storylines/Plots:

- Being an outsider or 'the new kid'
- Feeling lonely
- Nervousness
- Conformity

These themes are developed throughout the film via micro elements which highlights the many troubles that can be faced when in high school.

Main Characters:

Cady (Lindsay Lohan) is introduced as the protagonist as we the audience were following her and seeing her experience of starting public school. In the film she pretends to be friends with Regina to gather information for her to tell her original friends she made; Janis and Damian. , but struggles as she becomes a 'plastic' herself leaving her in chaos with a lot of people.

Cady's mum and dad were the first people the audience saw on the screen so we are aware that they are also significant in the film. They are seen as concerned parents and try to do what they think is best for their daughter as they understand she is going through an awkward time at her new school.

Regina, Gretchen and Karen known as the 'Plastics' were not evident in the title sequence but are the other main characters of the film

Social Groups:
