4. Analysis of Title Sequences

Skyfall -

1. At first the production companny (Albert R. Broccolis Eon Production LTD) was introduced.

- Then the the main character (Daniel Craig), followed by the actual title of the film.

- Then the rest of the cast was intorduced to the audience (Naomie Harris etc). The co-producers was then shown (David Pope and Andrew Noakes).

- The rest of the crew was introduced from th script designer and assistant director to stunt co-ordinator (Gary Powell) and costume designer (Jany Temime).

- The editors then came (Stuart Baird), followed by the music producer (Thomas Newman).

- Then the song 'Skyfall' came up with who it was produced (both), written (Paul Epworth) and sung by (Adele).

- Next came up the executive producer (Callum McDougall) and then who the film was written by (Neal Purvis and John Logan).

- The producers came up after (Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson)

- Lastly the producer of skyfall was introduced (Sam Mendes)

2. The font was similar to typewriting, like arial, it was white and was in capital letters for everyone's names.

3. The font is sometimes in the middle of the screen when the producers, title, song, directors and editors came up and the other times it was more to the right hand  corner of the frame.

4. Behind the font we see the main character most of the time (which shows the audience he is the protagonist), different settings (graveyards, oceans etc.), blood and the main character's eye.

5. I picked this title sequence because Skyfall was said to be a very successful film which i have not yet seen.

I liked the white font as it really stood out compared to the background colours and i liked the song (non-diegetic sound) that occompanied the title sequence.

6. I also found out that the key scenes that will happen in the film were shown in the title sequence itself. This allows the audience to gain an understanding of what the film is going to be about, engaging them a lot more.

True Detective

1. At first the names of the casts were intoduced (Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey). I assumed Woody was the protagonist as his name was the very first thing to appear in the title sequence.

- It was followed by the person who did the casing (Alexa L Fogel). Next came the music producer (T Bone Burnett).

- Costume Designer (Jenny Eagan) and then the editor (Alex Hall).

- The prodction designer (Alex Digerlando) followed by th eco-producer (Jessica Levin) and the producer (Carol Cuddy).

- The executive producers were then introduced to the audience (Steve Golin, Richard Brown etc.).

- Next was the title of the film (True Detective)

 - It was created by (Nic Pizzolatto) followed by the person the film was written by ( also Nic Pizzolatto).

- Lastly, the procuder was introduced (Cari Joji Fukunaga).

2. The font again looked like typewriting or arial, it was black and white. It was also red but that was only for the title.

3. It was visible in different corners of the frame, except when the title came up in was in the centre of the screen and was much larger in comparison.

4. Behind the font we see different chaacters both male and female, a stripper, different settings (church, house etc.), again the eyes of a female character, iconography (a telephone) and fire.

5. I liked the simple background colours as it foreshadows the drama that will occur in the film and the way one thing/person dissolves into another which is an example of editing.

6. I also found out that it was intentional to reveal a character through a location to portray drama.
