Genre of a film means the category or style of the film. For example, films based around the ideas and themes such as Western, romantic, war film, horror films, crime films, musical and etc.
There are 2 ways to talk about genre:
1. Semantic- The way the film looks
2. Syntactic- The stories the films tell
A teen drama film, is a type of drama series that is based around teenage characters. This was not available on television for the first 45 years. The most popular teen dramas were The Beverley Hills and 90210, which sparked the idea of teen dramas as they were becoming very successful. Teen dramas are mostly based around science fiction, fantasy, action and adventures.
The concept of Teen Dramas are to show the 'coming of age'
Popular teen dramas now are The Vampire Diaries, The 100, Glee, Pretty Little Liars and etc.
There are many Producers of Teen Dramas such as, The Warner Bros, DreamWorks Pictures and etc.
